Had this for two weeks and has worked perfectly. I absolutely don't know who is struggling to use this, It's fair to assume that everyone that seems to have a problem with this extension might just be slop creators who don't find it fun people having a way to block their slop. Awesome, now I can block those annyoing copy&paste comments and words like Jesus or lol. Unfortunately, blocking comments doesn't work for YouTube Shorts.
Does not work, the dev is ignoring issues, bug reports, and suggestions for years. Found a better extension that is working. Wouldn't recommend, tbh.

Worked beautifully here. I just suggest it could have a public or community maintained list of blocked slop for us to have a easy way to configure a clean experience on youtube.
block but don't skip
This addon is essential for any medium to heavy YouTube users regardless of subscription status. There are SO MANY garbage channels, many of them are AI Generated content and voice these days. Being able to quickly block the entire channel is so nice. YouTube will likely never add this functionality so relying on tools like this one is our only option!
Seems to work for blocking videos and channels but is lacking UI to manage what has been blocked. The option is actually there but is not easy to find. Once you blocked a channel or a video you'll find it in the managing interface which comes in the form of a text with comment and the ID of the channel or the video. The comment will help you track what's what as it will have the channel or video name and the date in which was blocked, but you will ba unable to search by channel name or video, search by date and similar since isn't using a database of any kind that could then be queried and worked with to display entries in a manageable UI, it just uses a text file which might be ok when one has blocked a few channels or videos, but in time the text will become very messy and inefficient to work with when needing to find something or even if verify if something was blocked or not. I'll take it over nothing but needs improvements to turn it into a tool usable for more than a small number of blocked entries.

Blocks ALL Youtube shorts FROM FRICKIN' SHOWING UP in your search results (since Google is lame and STILL hasn't made this a "filter" option). It's 2025 and Google can't make this a daum filter option. Just check the little box inside BlockTube's settings ("Block Youtube Shorts videos") to disable or enable them from showing up. May 24th 2025 works 100%!!!!! Exactly what I needed. Thank you so much to whoever made this extension...
Okay but.. I like to block from the side menu where the three dots doesn't show Block the submenu. 'Channel blocker' has an X that you can click and more quickly block channels. But they don't seem to update often. Thanks!
The problem with this extension is that YouTube thinks it is an ad blocker so you won't be able to watch any videos unless you disable it.

Quite good extrension for those who do want to make movies and shorts un attractive from youtube in his/her life. And try to devote their time in productive things. I found its all mentioned featurs wroking properly.

Doesn't currently work but when it does and this is not by design of BlockTube but because Youtube just messes things up for third party apps. BlockTube is incredibly good so I can block content creators that are just toxic and the same with all the AI-generated garbage that algorithm is spamming.
